UEFA reportedly cancels Champions League Final match in Russia

The Associated Press reported Thursday that UEFA cancelled the UEFA Champions League Final. The Final match of the much watched Champions League was scheduled to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia on May 28th later this year.

On the UEFA website, the organization issued a statement that said, “UEFA shares the international community’s significant concern for the security situation developing in Europe and strong condemns the ongoing Russian military invasion of Ukraine.”

It was only four years ago that Russia hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
