SANTA MONICA, Calif. – NetNewz TV is proud to partner with Chords2Cure for the live stream of the benefit concert on March 19, 2023 at 5:30 PM PDT. The live concert will feature incredibly talented high school students from the Santa Monica area along with a few well-known special guests.
Chords2Cure is a student-centric, non-profit organization established with the goal of raising funds for pediatric cancer research.
In 2015, Jaxon Blumenthal, a student at Crossroads School for the Arts was diagnosed with liver cancer. After a liver transplant, a lung resection, and six grueling rounds of chemotherapy, Jaxon beat the cancer. He then met Mafalda von Alvensleben, who was diagnosed with bone cancer.
Mafalda didn’t have it easy but she beat the odds too. Her treatment included 17 rounds of chemotherapy, 20 days of radiation and a femur bone replacement surgery. All during nine months.
Wow – these kids are incredible survivors. Jaxon and Mafalda gathered a group of students and motivated parents after they realized that only 4% of government funding goes to cancer research. Sharing a passion for music, the group formed Chords2Cure and the idea of an annual benefit concert was born.
So far, Chords2Cure has raised over $1,000,000 in funding for pediatric cancer research. Donation money that is raised goes to pediatric cancer research at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center under the guidance of Dr. Noah Federman.
Please watch the concert live here. Any donations that can be made are greatly appreciated.
